Fact is both actions ruin peoples lives. One poster told me that they found AFF because a fellow minister had left the "doctrine" and that those who still held to it and those in his family were so tough on him, he eventually lost his life. There is no remorse for this type of behavior, they feel justified, as if everyone who doesn't accept their "word" as God's word, are just like Judas, and deserve the same fate.

I don't think the point is that EVERY preacher is hateful, crooked, or any other such thing. I think the point is that the hypocrisy of SOME in treatment towards others is appalling. And with that I agree.

Re: **preacher forums**

You know I'm reminded of a story of woman that came to a church one night, and the evangelist preached against what she looked like.

Anyways she took her own life, and she left a note saying I've tried drugs and I've tried alcohol and I didn't find what I was looking for ,I tried church and I didn't find it there either.

I don't know if the story is true. The setting is a church service in east Tx. The young preacher wanted to impress the elder that was in this particular service. He preached against cut hair. He preached against makeup. He preached against jewelry.

The woman had reached her lowest point in life. When asking for help someone told her that she could find what she needed at that church.

In the note that she left behind she wrote that the preacher preached against everything that she was. Her hair was cut. She wore makeup. She wore jewelry. There was no point going on if she was already damned to hell.

Sad story. I do not know of anyone that has ended their life after attending an apostolic service. But I'm sure that many have showed up hanging on by a thread only to leave with a feeling of more condemnation and despair. God help us all to consider the weight of our words before we lay them on the backs of the opressed.

And I know for a fact that many have gone to an Apostolic church, hanging by a thread, and have been helped greatly. And are still serving the Lord today, with a very thankful heart.

God help our ministers to always be led by the spirit. And show wisdom.

Re: **preacher forums**

I don't think anyone is letting adultery or perversion slide, at least not on any forum I'm a part of (I'm not on CAF but can't imagine they would either.)

If Charnock means a small select group then he should say a small select group. Btw, not talking about something on open forums is not the same as covering adultery which has already been dealt with.

I agree that sometimes the attacks over minor points of doctrine can be over the top.

Re: **preacher forums**

So, let's not preach against adultery lest we offend the adulterer.
Let's not preach against homosexuality lest we offend a homosexual.
Let's not preach against stealing lest a thief be offended.
You guys are hilarious.

What is hilarious is that you guys believe that makeup, cut hair, and jewelry are a sin. What is hilarious is that you take the scripture out of context to make it fít your legalism. What is hilarious is that your sermons are so content deficient that you have to preach against stuff.

One of the Yadons told me this story. I understood it to have taken place in Oregon and it concerned particulary the way she was dressed. I can't fathom my once pastor Yadon making up anything.

Bullwinkle, you just confirmed what Charnock has been saying all along. You put the wearing of jewelry in the same category as adultery and homosexuality. How stupid is that?
