I did read verse 17... and 18, and 19, and 20. God's people abused garments, honey, oil, fine flour, and the children given to them by God. Are all of these "adornments" or "blessings" now evil? Should we preach against the excessive use of oil or fine flour (no more buffet-ing our fat pentecostal bodies), and no more having all those children!!!
Crazy doctrine. Not rightly dividing the Word, it seems to me.

I guess you missed the point. If jewelry is wrong because the harlot is wearing it then so is purple and scarlet.

The writer of revelation said a lot about Jewelry? Did he say it was wrong?

Sigh. This gets tiring.
There is no doctrine of anti-jewelry in Revelations. He said that the harlot was wearing purple and scarlet, wearing expensive jewels and carrying a gold cup full of fornications.
If YOU want to insist that he's saying jewelry is sin, you have to also say that purple and red are sin. And gold dishes.
How about YOU stop avoiding the question of purple and red?
Since we're going to take all of this literally, apparently we should all wear nothing but white linen since it represents the righteousness of the saints.

Re: Here Comes the Bride...............
Israel did not wear jewelry in Ezekiel because it was a whore. God GAVE those jewelrys to Israel. Israel became a whore on it's own.

This whole thread is what about, what about, what about. Nobody has answered a single question about the Jewelry which is the topic of the thread, not colors. Go and start your own thread and tell us why you think the colors are a sin.

??????????
Are you kidding?
It's in the same verse as the jewelry! You're using that as proof that jewelry's wrong, so it follows that red and purple would be.
I am constantly amazed at this pretzel logic.

Re: Here Comes the Bride...............
So let's Really look at the bride THIS time
Rev 21:9 Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, "Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb."
Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,
Let's look at how God adorned this city
Rev 21:11 having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
Rev 21:12 It had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed--
Rev 21:13 on the east three gates, on the north three gates, on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.
Rev 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
Rev 21:15 And the one who spoke with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city and its gates and walls.
Rev 21:16 The city lies foursquare; its length the same as its width. And he measured the city with his rod, 12,000 stadia. Its length and width and height are equal.
Rev 21:17 He also measured its wall, 144 cubits by human measurement, which is also an angel's measurement.
Rev 21:18 The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, clear as glass.
Rev 21:19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every kind of jewel. The first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,
Rev 21:20 the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.
Rev 21:21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass.
