Re: Kindle Bibles VS.Hard Copy Bibles.

With regard to my question, I agree with you both. But my only device (DroidX) has a large screen but is still a smartphone, I always worry that people will think I'm checking Facebook. lol

Here's another question, when the Bible is read in church, do you think it is appropriate for the congregation to read along on their electronic device (instead of a physical Bible)?
Why wouldn't it be?

They stopped reading it from stones and scrolls years ago!

and, the beauty of modern technology is that you can keep up with facebook, make arrangements for your social activities after service, and flirt with someone a few rows away, all the while appearing to those around you that you are reading the Scriptures.

Reminds me of a story that happened in our church years ago. This was back in the nineteen fifties. It involved my wife's aunt Jean and her boyfriend Cliff. Cliff hadn't been baptized in the Spirit yet so he was at the altar praying. Some one slipped up to him and whispered in his ear, "Jean says that when you're finished praying here, she'll meet you at the chili parlor." That kinda spoiled his concentration. Now, with modern technology she could have sent him a text message before he went to the altar or while he was praying at the altar.
