Psalm 16:11
English Standard Version (ESV)

You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 16:11 KJV

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence
is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures
for evermore.

To answer these types of questions one needs to go to the scripture and verify what saith the word!
Austin, it's not emotion I'm talking about. I'm talking about feeling the Holy Spirit upon you or in you. The emotion comes AFTER I feel the presence of God whether I'm witnessing or worshipping or praying or simply thinking about God or even when someone is talking to me about something (not necessarily religion) or when my pastor preaches something specific or when I pray with someone. I can feel the presence of God and I know others do too, but how do you describe his presence?

For me, God's presence isn't always the same but I'm at a loss for words to describe him.

I think His presence is hard describe because, as you said, it isn't always the same. If I had to use one word, I would have to say "strength". I feel His strength. When I am weak, then am I strong.

Re: The presence of the Lord

To me the Presence of the Lord is a feeling of "perfect peace". The few times I have "felt" the enemy it was a feeling of unrest and unexplainable anger.

Ok, what you are saying is this, you can acknowledge the presence of the Lord. This is called, discerning his presence in a spiritual sense. It brings confidence{ which is faith} joy, peace, and contentment, and praise.
It is what Jesus declared when he said; I'm with you always. It is also what is described as having a personal relationship with Jesus, as well as knowing him. This is what the bible talks about being lead of the spirit.
I miss understood your post. I thought you were referring to the after effect of the presents of the Holy Ghost. Sorry about that.
