US citizens can receive welfare and unemployment and all sorts of benefits - half of them can live off the other half.

You gotta have one of these and somebody (a USC sponsor) has to pony up for one. If an immigrant applies for means-tested benefits the cost comes out of the pocket of the sponsor.

WHAT you need to do is look among yourselves to determine where all of those billions are going. Not at immigrants (who pay taxes whether they are legal or illegal) even though it appears to be the game of the month to distract your attention to one group while paying off the other.

Sadly, there is no penalty outlined for doing it. A specific criminal statute needs to be drafted with specific criminal penalties outlned for it before we get to convict those who do it.

USC Title VIII outlines immigration law/immigration code. Do you to research this to determine what is there and sadly what is missing.

Note to yip yip yip canam - what other countries do to their illegal border crossers have nothing to do with this discussion.....Mexico for instance shoots nicaraguans who try to illegally cross their southern border.

The discussion is (was) on immigration and welfare in the US. Which means that skipping your ADHD medication only resulted in you (once again) wandering off into another completely different topic.

I for one would gladly and cheerfully authorize some of my last years $27k tax bill to publicly fund said madication if you cannot afford it.

Immigrants must have a sponsor to immigrate and are not eligible for means-tested benefits until either (1) they have worked and paid into the system for 40 quarters / 10 years or (2) they apply for and become US citizens. Immigrants can apply for citizenship after 5 years if they are non-family based and can apply for citizenship after (3) years if they are family based immigrants.

Children of illegal immigrants are US citizens if born in the US and the statistics that you and your colleagues rattle off are actually costs applied to US citizens.
