Re: What A Horrible Day!
well, I spent the afternoon in the waiting room while my husband had to have surgery on his foot which was amputated mid-tarsel 5 years ago after he had suffered a ruptured aortic aneurysm. After the aneurysm (which is something that people don't normally survive period!), he went thru more than any of us will ever be able to relate to. Then he had to learn how to walk again, feed himself, write, spell, swallow!...... everything but talk. But thru it all, we gave and give God all the glory!! It may not have been a fun experience, but he is still alive and here to share his life with us.
So now how does your bad day sound?? not too bad, I'm thinking.

I do sympathize with you JL, and hope your car is fixed before your trip. It would not be good to travel through Nevada with no A/C.

me too. I'm sorry. I was just venting and it wasn't fair for me to vent at you. Everyone's struggle is different. For some, a small thing is HUGE. To others, that same thing would just be a minor bump in the road. That doesn't mean it is any less HUGE to the first person.
God told us to cast all our cares on HIM. That's the common denominator. Doesn't matter the size of your cares. He wants to carry them all

Re: What A Horrible Day!
I am dedicating the song below to you. I have been there and done that so I feel your pain. When I lived in Texas anytime my car or truck AC went out it was always the compressor or condensor and was big bucks. With that in mind one time when the AC went out in my pickup during a hot summer I had to sweat it out for a couple of weeks until my next payday so I could get it fixed. Then when I took it to get fixed found out that it was actually only a ten dollar part! I had been miserable for two weeks for nothing.

Re: What A Horrible Day!
I had a wise friend that said, "If everyone could throw their problems in a huge pile...we'd probably run to get ours back." And, yes, I used the word "had" because he tweeted this during his battle with leukemia. In spite of it all, we have so much to be thankful for!

Re: What A Horrible Day!
Sorry, JL! I know it's gonna be miserable without A/C. However, I will say it's a horrible day in Rangers baseball world since a fan who reached out for a ball Josh Hamilton tossed to the crowd fell over the side 20 feet and died; he went into cardiac arrest some time after the accident and died not too long after. To see the video played over and over is horrifying, not to mention his son (who was alone after dad fell) was seated next to him when it happened...

Re: What A Horrible Day!
JL, don't let these folks minimize the bad day or days you are having. No matter what happens to somebody there is ALWAYS somebody with something worse going on. However that does not minimize your bad day or days.
I have been there in 100 degree temp with no AC and it is not fun. Hope it doesn't cost as much as you fear it might and if it does I pray that God will make a way.
