In Jesus Name

Yeah it's not what you thought... This thread is about Rodeos!

I'm sitting here enjoying my son's first Rodeo. It just dawned on me that the Rodeo culture is unabashedly "Christian".

"Please stand. Men, remove cover for the invocation." He prays for a couple minutes and then ends with "in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Pretty Christian, but then I haven't seen any Burkas or other indications of other religions around here...

Yeah. Rodeos, red necks and religion.

j/k... Somethings just seem "right" when you're around them. Honest folks displaying and learning new live stock handling skills, the Red White and Blue and a serious heartfelt invocation in Jesus' name. That seems right.

Re: In Jesus Name

My one yr old has not been indoctrinated enough to hate rednecks or religious folks! He watched in awestruck wonder as the cowboys got bucked off. Almost made me enjoy the rodeo myself!
