DKB

Just curious. Since DKB still pastors his church in TX (correct me if I'm wrong), who pays for all of the plane tickets back and forth between St. Louis and Austin?

Unitedairlinespraise,

It is a rule that a GS cannot pastor.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

CeeCee, I am Not so sure that is true! Functionally GS is considered a full-time job- yes. But I'm not privy to any rule. I think DKB remained Pastor for the fist six months or so of being GS... Something about their building program.

I know you have UPC connections so check it out. I am almost positive that this was discussed a couple of years ago on the forum and it was found that some years ago that was made a requirement for being GS. That became part of the discussion about whether or not AM would be willing to become GS before his already declared retirement age and hand over to his designated successor.
