Origins of traditions are very insightful. Check out the reason we call the days of the week and months of the year after pagan gods, and ask yourself why we SPEAK those names. Does this mean we should not use those names? According to Chalfant's logic, we should not use those monthly and daily names, for that is his implication as to why he refuses to wear rings.
