The Power of the Holy Spirit: Drunk on Meekness

Why is it that we never hear "The Holy Ghost came down in a mighty way in the service and there were people intoxicated on meekness. I mean there was such spirit of humility that filled the room."? You never hear someone say, "The Holy Ghost moved on me and I was immersed in love and patience and self-control." No, instead we only have the accounts of the "power of the HG" being goosebumps, chills, burning sensations, people being "slain", falling out, uncontrollable twitches and convulsions, staggering, folks acting as though they are drunk, shaking, quaking, screaming, running, rolling, etc.

In Acts 2 some said that those who spoke in tongues were drunk, but we only have tongues being the only thing recorded that the scoffers witnessed to say such. We have no biblical evidence of the early church staggering or acting like folks who are intoxicated with alcohol. Why just stop at staggering or passing out? Why aren't we seeing people getting in fistfights or throwing up as a result of being "drunk"? That's what intoxicated folks do.

I'm not intending to be disrespectful or to be a doubter. I am simply asking questions about some things that are engrained into Pentecostal culture that are accepted as normal or biblical. I wonder if this is truly what Jesus meant by "power" when He spoke in Acts 1:8 or did He mean something more and far better than sensational feelings and emotionalism?
