Re: Gateway College is now accredited...
Here are some quotes from a facebook thread from an instructor/professor at Gateway. This sheds more light from a reliable source.
"I just heard that a motion passed at Gen Conf for UGST to buy out Gateway's charter and facilities. As I understand it, at some point in the near future (summer 2012) Gateway will cease to exist and the UPCI will open an undergrad institution."
"The new college will not be named Gateway."
"That gives pentecostal's a lot less choices for colleges" -- "Actually, it opens a whole new world. Now they will have a place to go to get a non-ministerial degree." -- "The other Bible colleges are all still open."
" Isn't Great Lakes still open for non-ministerial degrees?" -- "Not sure what's going on with Great Lakes. They, like the Bible colleges, are ENDORSED by the UPCI. This new college will be owned and operated by the UPCI."
"The new college will not be liberal arts per say. It will be a Christian college. That is somewhere between a liberal arts and Bible college."
"Same as jr college or community college?" -- "No, not a junior college either. Although that would be cool if they do emphasize that aspect. The info that I have is that it will be an undergrad institution that awards degrees. I would imagine it will start out with ministry degrees in addition to whatever else they do. It won't be a Bible college because not everyone will major in Bible (30+ Bible credits). There will be four year degrees too."
"The Gateway experience was phenomenal. i hope they do not take away the spiritual side and God-centerness of it." -- "While I may not know much about the new college, I do know the people involved in its establishment. I feel very confident that the mission will be geared toward an apostolic experience in education. God will definitely be expected to be a part of matriculation!"

It will be several years before Gateway is "accredited."

No, you guys aren't getting it! Gateway will be an accredited institution starting fall 2012. The vote was passed at GC, meaning the UPCI now has full control over Gateway, meaning UGST is going to purchase Gateway this summer. Gateway will close it's doors, and shut down this summer...then UGST will purchase the facility and open a new school.
You are right to an extent...Gateway will never be accredited. Gateway is closing after this year. It's going to be a totally new school.

UGST is only a graduate school isn't it? Being a graduate school doesn't mean they have any undergraduate accredidations. Therefore, them purchasing a university and opening it under a new name (even their name if they could) does not mean the new university has any of its 4 year degree programs accredidated.

The link you gave us was about a new Christian college. It doesn't matter that the UPCI voted on anything. The UPCI doesn't accredit anyone. So if thats the only reason you think the new college will be accreditated then I will stick with the faq website that says:
Quote:

This proposal was launched at the initiative of Gateway College of Evangelism. The proposal is for UGST to acquire Gateway in order to start a new undergraduate program with the goal of accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA). This proposal of the Gateway Board was endorsed by the Missouri District Board as owner of the campus, and it was recently approved by the UGST Board subject to approval of the UPCI General Board. A task force has been assembled to develop a mission statement, a financial plan, and other necessary information.

You are wrong. It will be several years before the new 4 year undergraduate school will be accredited. I know, because I heard the school's president, Darrell Jons, say so yesterday. I was less than 2 feet from him when he said it.
