Brother Epley is a great Christian Brother,I certainly don't agree with him on everything, but he lives the life.

Madisonville. Isn't that is bud tingle territory!

Re: Special Healing-Miracle-Deliverance Tonite.
First of all - I so rejoice with Pastor Epley in the Healings & Miracles but most of all those that were filled with the Holy Ghost. I think it is absolutely wonderful to hear of an Apostolic Church having services like these!
Second of all - I have preached in thousands of churches in 61 nations and raised millions of dollars in my 39 years of ministry and have NEVER demanded tithes and never took the tithes and never counted the offerings in any church outside of the ones I have pastored. I have lived on what was given to me on a love offering basis. I do know preachers that told the people after I left that I took ALL the money that was raised while they took a vacation with the money and did not even give me 10% of it. that is between them and God!
I have preached and received tithe in the Churches I have pastored. It is a Biblical principle that was before the law, during the law and even Jesus and the Apostles taught Tithing in the New Testament Church. I am NOT starting an argument about it and don't want to further the discussion - but I DO believe in the principle of the TITHE!

You're a good man Bishop. May I ask a few teeny tiny questions??
Aside from any discussion about tithe whatsoever, under what pretense were these millions of dollars raised? Did you raise this money for any particular cause or program or was the money raised for the "preacher"?
If it was raised for charity to the preacher then there is no concern. If however there was other pretense and these preachers stole the money, what is the current status of these crimes? Are they doing time?

Hoovie, I have preached for many years, Faith for Salvation, Healing, Miracles, Deliverance and Faith For Finances. I know it is not the norm for "Apostolic" Churches but in the Word of Faith Churches, Deliverance Churches, many Charismatic Churches and other churches it is the norm for a Guest Speaker or an Evangelist to "raise his own offering". I have never raised money for myself personally. I have raised offerings (and it was pretty much required of me to be there) for my own International Missions, New Church buildings, Outreach projects, Pastors Anniversary's, Home Missions Dept of the UPC, Foreign Missions Dept of the UPC, Revival Expense, the "budget" for a Crusade or special meeting and a host of other things. I have never been the one to count the money or to have any idea for the most part to know what was raised. I have never had a guarantee or asked how much my offering would be. For the most part - this is how we have lived for 39 years - never knowing from week to week what we would make. I will say that I can pretty much tell within $100 what comes in as I have been doing this for a LONG time! I am not upset or bitter about it. What doesn't come in one week - God knows how to make it up the next or speak to one person to sow into our ministry that has no clue what needs we have.
I have raised funds for meetings and projects only to find out it did not go to that and if the question ever came up of what happened to all the money that was raised - It was simply told that I took the money and left town with it. That has NEVER been the case! I have never taken a dime of what wasn't given to me.
I hope that answers your question.

Bro. Russell was an awesome man of God. He preached several great revivals for us at 1st Pentecostal Church in Lexington, TN back in the 80's and 90's.

Sacrificing animals unto the Lord was prior to the Mosaic law too. Is that something you still practice? Just curious.

Re: Special Healing-Miracle-Deliverance Tonite.
God Bless Pastor Epley and all those who still believe that God heals the sick and delivers the captives. We serve a mighty Miracle Working God who responds to FAITH! Keep praying for the sick and suffering for " The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16
