Some think that we will be going into another ice age soon...what say you?

I think our massive production of carbon gasses has forestalled the next Ice Age if only temporarily. There are a lot of complex variables. Who knows for sure?
Losing the Polar ice caps would flood the world like Kevin Costner had asserted. It probably wouldn't even be all that "bad," overall. Greenland was covered with a lush temperate forest just 1 million years ago. Now those trees are crushed beneath a mile thick ice sheet.
Also, generally speaking, warmer is wetter. Warm air holds more moisture than cool air. It was the Ice Ages that largely contributed to the creation of the Sahara Desert. Plate Tectonics plays a role as well. The loss of the Tethys Sea (the Mediterranean/Black Sea/Caspian Sea basins closed off an important flow that kept North Africa and Southwest Asia green in the past.
Another Ice Age is probably inevitable. That's the real threat and not "global warming."
