Yep, It was! I think it was around 1982-3 and I was just coming into the Apostolic movement and was invited to go to this this great AMF conference in Pensacola. I took one of my young ministers with me and we were so excited and then we got in the church and everybody kept looking mean at us and I could not figure it out. I thought well, what on earth are they looking at and why are they starring a hole through us! LOL After the service - I said to a pastor friend that had invited us - Why in the world did they look so mean and stare at us and he said - well, uh... and kept looking at my arms and my shirt! I said - SHORT SLEEVES? and he said, well, yes and lose those Elvis looking Sunglasses - they preach against those too! ROFL!!!!!!!!!!
We went back for the next session and my friend preached a Soul Winning Message on Perfect Love and it was great with testimonies of people that had been saved in their church by people teaching Home Bible Studies. The next preacher (he is dead now) got up and said - well, we have heard about Perfect Love - I am gonna preach about PERFECT HATE!!!! He snarled and put his meanest face on and preached against Home Bible Studies and preachers (like the one that had just preached) that lived in Big houses and drove Lincoln Continentals (parking lot full of Town Cars) and said - I HATE SINNERS! I hate the dirty rotten low down, good for nothing sinners and God hates then too!
I told the young minister that was with me - Son, Its time to go! LOL
We left and never went back to another AMF meeting. Man! They were some depressed people!

This is horrible. I know some great men that have been in the AMF. I love to listen to teaching by Brother Verbal Bean. He was in the AMF. I just can't imagine Apostolics acting like this! I believe in holiness and every standard that is preached against my the majorit of conservative Apostolics, but I just can't imagine someone acting like that! Were you there Brother Epley? I hope this is/was not typical of this fellowship..
