Our dog is constantly threatening to call the BCAH (Border Collie Abuse Hotline) every time we need to "correct" him. Oh, and apparently a mere 30 minutes of Frisbee a day isn't nearly enough. He just recently joined the Occupy Petsmart crowd (darn bunch of hippies!) to demand more.

I'm concerned about poor judgement on correcting a child vs. child abuse in some of these comments...

I have been hit with the wire bristle end of a brush to my flesh. A plunger handle to my flesh. Pvc pipes ...a paddle ...shoe thrown to my face. Been slapped down ...leather belts to my flesh. All by the age of four. I should have continued to ignore this thread.

Let me preface my remarks by saying: What this man did was totally out of line - and I consider it abuse.

However, not all "corrective spanking" is child abuse !!!!!!

I think it’s pretty obvious why we don’t do this anymore, BUT, it was considered a practice ordained by God a few thousand years ago. Funny how things have changed, and why they have changed.
