Re: Bishop Kenneth Haney - Update: Thu; Nov 10
"The Lord giveth & the Lord taketh away! Blessed be the name of the Lord!" Jesus & His angels came for Bishop Haney this morning! He went very peacefully!!! In God's army a 5 star General has gone home! God never makes a mistake! He heard our prayers! "Thy Kingdom come! Thy will be done!" God's will has been done! The doctor just came in & said to me. "My mother use to tell me, "When you live a good life, you will have a peaceful passing!' He said, "This is the first peaceful passing I've seen!" We love all of you & thank you for your prayers!!! Viewing & funeral arrangements are forthcoming.
Sister Joy Haney

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the
death of his saints.
Praying for his family, that
God wraps them in his
comfort.

Re: Bishop Kenneth Haney - Update: Thu; Nov 10
Within his paradigm Elder Haney was a progressive leader. I admired the way he grew and managed the ministry in CA and then later the changes he made in St. Louis.
My prayers are with the Haney family during this time of sorrow and grieving.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Bishop Kenneth Haney - Update: Thu; Nov 10
While we stood on the conservative side of the issues and could not stay, we still loved and prayed for Bro. Haney. I am saddened that I learned of his departure so late.
When I read that Bro. Haney was in need of prayer, I felt the Spirit tell me that his time was rapidly coming to its end. I prayed for Bro. Haney's healing as well as the strength and comfort of his family. My prayers will no longer avail for him, but I am still praying that the God of all comfort will give them peace that passes all understanding. May God be with them during this very painful time.

Re: Bishop Kenneth Haney - Update: Thu; Nov 10
If you don't really "know" Sister Haney personally, the following post is how she lives her life - she is such a woman of faith and a woman of the Word! It has been such a privilege to have known her these years and to have been a part of their flock.
From Sister Haney - Ecclesiastes 3:1-2: "To every thing there is a season, a time to be born, and a time to die!" As Bishop Haney said many times: the important thing is what happens between birth & death - the dash between the 2 dates represents a lifetime of choices! Life is fragile, handle it with PRAYER! Psalm 103:15-16: "As for man, his days are as grass; the wind passes over it and it is gone!" "Only 1 life, it will soon be past! Only what's done for Christ will last!" Psalm 116:15: "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints!" We look at death differently than God does! Paul declared: "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Bishop Haney lived for Christ 100%! And by his death, he has GAINED! He didn't lose - he gained!! He said with the Apostle Paul, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" ( 2 Timothy 4:7). He KEPT the FAITH! He preached about heaven! He sang about heaven! Now he's in heaven! As he sang many times: "Heaven - happy home above! Heaven - land of peace and love! Oh it makes me feel like travelin' on! Heaven-eternal! Heaven-supernal! I'm so glad that it's real!" Though we sorrow and our hearts break within us - the heaviness of our loss seems too much to bear, "Standing somewhere in the shadows we find Jesus!" He's the only One who TRULY can help us with our loss and pain! If you listen closely, you can hear Him say, "My arms are around you! I'm holding you! I will never leave you nor forsake you! I'll always be with you!" In your sorrow today, REST in HIS arms! Jesus loves you very much! He is too wise to be wrong and too good to be unkind! He does ALL things well! Bishop Haney is with the Lord!!!
