Indeed. A healthy skepticism is good as blind belief and blind skepticism are equally blind.

Timmy is just a born skeptic.

It's easier for some to just knock things rather than have any belief.
Would it be even harder for you to believe, say, Mormonism?

There is some truth in ever belief system I have run into so far. I will believe truth in any form I find it and as much as I am mentally & spiritually prepared to receive it.

But the key point is... I would study and see rather than simply say "Nah" and walk off. As a matter of fact... I have... when some "missionaries" came by my house some years ago. I studied with them for several weeks.

There are many similarities and there are many differences. At this point I cannot see the Book of Mormon as being more reputable than the Bible in the areas where they differ so I do not "believe" their version versus the Bible version... and I am sure this is the case for them concerning the Bible as well.

But, as I said, the key is that one would at least be willing study and attempt to find truth.

And the truth I cannot yet see I pray I am found better prepared at some date in the future to do so.

Verrrry interesting.......
This is a topic I've often wondered about in a Christian context.

Thanks for the informed discussion.

I pretty much agree with Schott,

James Randy thinks it's a hoax. I very much believe it works and I have seen it many many times and have personally done it accurately.
I was leery when I first heard of it, having never witnessed it personally. However, my father in law swears by it. He has found both of his wells using this method. When brought up in conversation, I defer to him because of his experience with it. I plan on getting him to do it again when we dig our well.

Re: Dowsing AKA Water Witching

A couple of years ago, I experimented with dowsing, especially pendulum dowsing. It was my experience there were negative energies very active in the experiments.

I'd not do it again and would advise anyone who's considering doing it to be very careful.

Not that much to explain. Demonic forces are present in dowsing. I've experienced and seen them.
