Here is a comment made by Lindel Anderson, director of the IBC music department, on his FB page:

It's interesting that most who have expressed disagreement with our [Super Bowl] decision, accused us of being judgmental or or unwilling to accept a chance to witness. The irony is that they were willing to JUDGE us harshly even before they knew the details of the invitation. Trust me when I say that this would have been no opportunity for IBC to witness. Nobody would have even known who the choir was accompanying a 80's pop star who represents everything that Jesus Christ and His church stands against. The song we would have been singing is a creepy song that makes fun of Christianity. The Super Bowl casting manager asked me not to say the artist or song title on social media until it was public. The artist's name was all over the media today as they made the announcement, so I felt it was ok to mention her. We love opportunities to minister in the community. We've accepted many in the past and I'm sure when we feel that we are given an opportunity to Glorify God in the future, we will be honored to share the Gospel of Christ to our community or the world! That's probably how they heard about us anyway.
