Some of my fellow American Idol friends might remember David Archuleta from season 7 of American Idol. I came across his version of O Holy Night on YouTube. Whether pre- or post-vocal change (adolescence), no doubt that kid can sing anything and sing it very well. So, I'll have to add him to the list of the other two whose version I also like...

Re: Favorite Christmas Song/Artist
I have always enjoyed listening to 'O Holy Night', 'Do You Hear What I Hear?' (when it is done correctly with all verses), 'We Three Kings', 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing', 'O Little Town of Bethlehem', to name just a few of them.
Perhaps the ones that I do not like most are the ones that talk about snow. Having spent enough of my life in places where 32 degrees or less was about as it generally got in the winter (the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex), I have a very strong aversion to anything cold, white, and slushy. For everyone else who loves it, I love you guys anyway.

I have a tendency to call DFW home. How long were you here, if you don't mind my asking?
I can certainly understand where you come from on that. I don't care for the ice, but give me all the snow and I'll be like a kid in a candy store. Earlier this year, as well as last year about the same time, we saw two different storm systems dump considerable snow. 2010 gave us anywhere from 10"-12" depending on where one lived, which beat the snow storm of '78 (before my time). Earlier this year, I believe we saw 6"-8".
For me, the Christmas season, as we know it, would be perfect if we ever saw snow on or about the day of Christmas...

Re: Favorite Christmas Song/Artist
We lived in the DFW area from about 1986-1993, if my memory serves correctly. My father pastored a church in Burleson, and when we left, a man from Bro. Tom Foster's church took it. Last I checked, Bro. Foster has since acquired it as a daughter work. Bro. Foster sent some of his young men to hold our church a revival and later preached a revival for my Dad. He did all of that and told my Dad that God told him to not charge my father at all. My family has always had quite a bit of respect for Bro. Foster since that time. I do not know if we were acquainted with him prior.
