Re: Is your church multi-racial/multi-cultural?

I see Randy and I posted similar thoughts at exactly the same time... maybe there is something to that.

That is the silliness of the one drop rule. You can be pasty and still be 'black'. That 17% African American you quoted would have been waaayyy past the one drop... and even today there are a lot of families that if they knew would not feel good about your marrying white.

I don't think that the darkest person marrying the palest person makes any more difference to God than a short person marrying a tall person. But some people do and I think it should be exposed so it can be dealt with.

What is amazing is how GOOD people look who come from mixed race marriages! Brazil is the perfect example. It is like all the genetic defects of various nationalities cancel each other out.

For the record I am not attracted to black women (even though I find many are cute), neither am I attracted to Asian women (and again, many are stunning). But I saw a talk show where the father was a very black man and the mother was a very Chinese woman and the daughter was.... Va va voom!

A high school English teacher made the comment that Hawaii had the most beautiful people due to the mix of so many nationalities.

I mentioned it before but I'll repeat it........my mil did not plan on multiculturalism........but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren cover all the bases....
American Indian, Black and East Indian; and she loved them all!

Re: Is your church multi-racial/multi-cultural?

Considering that nearly all Americans are a mixture of English, German, Irish, American Indian, and who knows what else, it is a bit beside the point to scream about 'mixed races'. Way too late for that.

Her father is Polish and Irish and her mother is Vietnamese. She played the Kung Fu girlfriend of the main villain in Die Hard 4, the Ping Pong champ in Balls of Fury, and one of the priests fighting vampires in the movie Priest.
