The jean skirts, the "mighty poofs", the long sleeves, all the standards are simply to set us apart from the world. Not necessary for salvation, but to set apart from the world.
Romans 12:2 tells us not to conform any longer to the patterns of this world. I'm sure you feel different, but I feel great about being able to be seen differently from the world.
