Re: How important is your childs education ?
Those children are going outside of their homes to get something that they need. So they and their parents obviously think it's worth the risk.
I'm thinking of Moses' mother: she not only saw to it that he got the best quality educational training, but at home she also taught him what he needed to know about his God. He benefitted greatly from both.
Daniel also had the best of both worlds in terms of education: the educational training of the emporer, but he also had the schooling and knowledge of his Hebrew faith. He benefitted greatly from both.
Apostle Paul also drew from his educational training as a Sanhedrin and also what he learned about Christianity. He benefitted tremendously from both.
Luke the apostle also drew from both his training as a physician and what he learned from being with Jesus. Both served him and his readers well.
So it seems that we need 1- the education of secular society 2-biblical literacy, and 3- spiritual literacy: We need to understand the various dominant philosophies and worldviews as well as practical knowledge that can help us get and excel in a job or a trade- but we also need to know the bible and know Jesus Christ.
I remember that someone on here spoke well of the late Bro Robert Trapani saying that he was well rounded in terms of his learning. Someone also said that of Bro David Bernard.
Learning never ends and I think that as parents or people who just love and care for other people, we can't just send our young people off to learn God knows what in a school whether it be secular or religious. We need to also be graceful learners ourselves.
