I agree... and there is a shortage of them around here... some of our girls are convinced that they will never marry because there are not enough good young men.

I know. They are either married, or gay.

In Wisconsin there were virtually no women (or no women I was even slightly interested in). Those that DID attract other men were all married by 19 to 21 (with their first baby born 9 months and 1 day later). I could go into a diatribe how I was not allowed to specify weight in any sort of criteria of who I was looking for and yet THEY (the single women) were allowed to talk about how TALL they wanted their guy to be.....

God finally came a calling when he almost literally ran my soon-to-be wife into me, and she is two inches taller. LOL (This is quite the story.)

Oh you have no idea! Imagine two Christian singles having their car break down in front of a gay bar the first time they met. Eventually they marry and tell everyone how they met each other at a gay bar.... LOL Well, this didn't happen to us but it is not too different from what DID happen.

I have said that just about the only way that I could find a wife is if she fell and landed in my arms. I suppose that I have been fortunate not to have a bunch of swooning young ladies living around me.

The absolute best "catches" are those that God has kept somewhat humble. In nearly every case those women (and sometimes men, but usually women) who are considered "popular" are never actually worth catching.

That is a greater truth than many people realize. I am reminded of the song that says, "If you want a happy life, marry an ugly wife."

I do not know that it has to quite like that bad, but many are the girls who I would not go out with because they were not truly interested in serving God but rather trying to see how many boys they could catch.
