the free market isn't working because healthy young people aren't buying insurance. why are insurance premiums so high? how can people with preexisting conditions get coverage? even if insurance companies were federal, that doesn't solve the problem of healthy people not buying insurance and sharing the burden of the elderly even though they will eventually be in the same situation. i bet you an ice cream smiley that obamacare will be approved because if not, insurance companies will lose out to expanded medicare and the people who will suffer are the sick and the middle class who can't afford coverage.
what are your free market solutions to high premiums and people with preexisting conditions? the mandate solves the problem of the uninsured and keeps insurance companies in business.
