This is true. I understand politics and how it works, but I think it is terribly disingenuous to pretend we were playing less than $2 per gallon under W. The prices plummeted to that level for whatever reason, but it was pretty much in the narrow window while W was already heading out and O was voted in. Politics aggravates me to no end.

In my Middle Tennessee town of 100,000 yesterday I think gas was at $3.71 gallon. I travel in GA, MS, AL, and other parts of TN and generally my town's prices are a little better than other places for some reason.

Yet if he announced today the opening of more public lands for new drilling, if he lifted the blockage of the Keystone Pipeline, if he presented a strategy for more domestic production, based on those efforts, that speculators and investors would cause the prices to drop almost immediately.
