Re: Planned Parenthood Plans 40 Days of Prayer (L)
Unless you can find a counter balancing scriptrue wherein an unfaithful man's penis shrivels and falls off I think I am going to rip the OT out of my Bible and toss it in the trash today.
Maybe I am not the Christian I thought I was.
I think I am done at AFF for a while. This place has suddenly lost it's joy. Now sounding more like the UC church I ran screaming from.
Peace out.

That was the era of Law, T2W, and not given to be a pleasant read. Running screaming is the intended reaction, imo. I hope you come back soon.

In fact, this is why living children conceived in sin were regarded as being of lower class in ancient Israel. The primary reason was inherentance of property and wealth. To sire a child from a man other than one's husband, especially if it were the first born, would essentially hijack the family inheritance from the lawful bloodline. A child conceived in sin was a threat to the family's continued prosperity.
That would mean that, according to the Law of Moses, only children conceived in the bonds of holy wedlock inherently have the right to live.
Now, to me, that's disturbing.

Of course it's disturbing.
It's about as disturbing as is Deut. 21:18-21 and
7:14 You will be blessed more than any other people; none of your men or women will be childless, nor will any of your livestock be without young. 15 The LORD will keep you free from every disease. He will not inflict on you the horrible diseases you knew in Egypt, but he will inflict them on all who hate you. 16 You must destroy all the peoples the LORD your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity and do not serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.
Do you wish to say these verses are not disturbing? Kill other people's babies so your own wives will not be childless?

I hear ya sister.
Some men need their penis to shrivel and fall off. That would solve the problem of some women getting pregnant and deciding to abort. This is a cruel world where some evil men rule and the weakest is always the ones slaughtered or abused.

Re: Planned Parenthood Plans 40 Days of Prayer (L)
The entire reason this thread is hot and exacts extreme emotions is because babies ARE dying - to the tune of thousands daily.
If a doctor would bludgeon a newborn to death it would be the hottest news for weeks, if not months following. But, if he dismembered the child yesterday? "It's nobody's business" except the doctor and mother... oh, let's not forget "the pastor" who provides council and prayer.
God forbid the evil GOVERNMENT might get involved.
Pure bunk.

Sure it's bunk. You got some folk who will find any excuse to continue their bloodlust against the innocents. Saying the unborn is not human is very convenient so that they do not feel guilty for advocating the unborn's death.

I simply see the lesser of many evils that need to be used in a world where there is a lot of unmarried, even promiscuious sex going on. It is the reality... and again I have no desire to force sinners into the Christian model- they are supposed to be doing exactly what they are doing. They can have contraception, they can have abortions, heck, they can kill the store clerk down the street when they rob him.... but I won't support laws that make it legal to do so and I do support laws that make it illegal.

There are things called genetic chimmeras. These occur when there are two embryos that fuse together and make one human person. But since both embryos were human persons then both have souls right? And since neither embryo died then both souls are still in their body right? But that leads us to quite a predicament, we would have one preson with 2 souls... That doesn't make sense to me so I believe embryos don't yet have a soul and that the soul is infused sometime later during pregnancy.

Bump. How come no one has commented on this?
