Thank you! I got a book about how to publish on amazon and they charge $9.99 per book and they keep like $7.00 of it. Sickening! However, they probably reach a wider audience. I am really tossing around what to do about that part. I just don't know yet. If anyone has any pro/con experiences with publishers I would love to hear them.

I don't know if that is bad or not. I would rather do that than pay 3.50 each and have to buy 500 upfront.

Facial hair isn't a problem in some churches. Bro. Brian Kinsey's was one that allowed it in Pensacola

Finished the first draft today!

It will take me a few months to round it out like I want and make it as readable as I would like.

I will likely end up buying some sort of insurance for myself, so not sure how much that might cost. And I will need to talk to a lawyer and make sure I'm doing this right using a pen name and all that. So, I've got to be able to pay for that with the book. That's the part I hate and will drag my feet on. I love to write but talking to a lawyer, yuck. I might go to my grave with the book unpublished over that! LOL! Seriously, though, I will have to really push myself about that part. Anybody know anything about that stuff?

Re: I've Started Writing

I just wanted to let everyone know....because there was a lot of interest, that I did finish my book last summer (except for a final edit). A lot of family and some friends read the book and I had a lot of positive experiences as a result. However, I just can't seem to bring myself to publish it. I don't know if that will change in time or not. I kept thinking I would eventually just publish it and then let everyone here know. But I am emotionally spinning my wheels.

It has been wonderful to get it all out on paper in chronological order. That has been healing. Maybe that is all I needed to do.

Anyway, I am sorry for the disappointment for those of you who were really looking forward to it. I would have to feel a peace about publishing it and I just don't right now. I think I may begin to talk about things a bit more openly than before though....it has been a life-changing thing for me.....writing this book. Thanks for listening and the encouragement you all gave me to write.

So, sorry, but I know you wouldn't want me to publish it if I didn't feel good about it....even if you are dying to read it.

Prolly for any work; I doubt J.K. gets that much per copy for "Harry."

But you need an edit. Or three. Best of luck there.

Not sure you read my whole post.

I said I didn't want to publish right now. However, my daughter is an excellent editor if I decide to go that route.

If you ever decide to publish it, I would love to read it. But I respect your privacy.

Re: I've Started Writing

I understand what you are saying ILG because I am sure the situations/people you are dealing with in the book are still ongoing, and that in itself makes it very difficult. I personally have wanted to write my story too, but because it would hurt people very close to me still involved with the stories I would be writing about, it makes it easier just not to do it. And you may be right, maybe you just needed to write the book for yourself, to put things down on paper that aren't so easy to put into words.

Keep us posted on any new developments though....
