Our church has an extensive outreach to the homeless. We feed about 75 of them breakfast each Sunday morning at a city park. Our work with them has resulted in a significant number of them attending church. Sometimes with interesting results!
This morning I watched a young guy who was with an older guy open a bag of tobacco and roll a cigarette in the middle of the sermon! I was pretty astounded and poised to escort him out if he had tried to light up but once he got it rolled he discreetly got up and slipped outside to smoke it.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess.
