By Jay: I do believe that the more regularly that one surrenders to the Spirit, the greater the possibility for future use.
|
What exactly do you mean by "future use", Jay ??

I mean that the more often that a person prays in tongues, the more likely it may be that God will use them in the nine gifts of the Spirit. This is not a definitive statement, but I have seen it happen because the key to both is being willing to submit your will to God. This submission opens a person up for more of the workings of the Spirit. This is when the attitude must be right as well.

Re: Snake Handling Easter Service in WSJ
The gifts of the spirits depends on one's tongues?
How can one have the wrong attitude and speak in tongues?

That was not what I said. I said that it indicates the ability of the individual to submit, and was in reply to a question concerning the frequency of praying in the Spirit. I had commented that it was not strictly necessary to do so everyday. This is why I said what I did. I do believe that the more often a person prays, the more often they will speak in tongues, and they will also develop the ability to be used by God.

It can be done, but then you are standing on dangerous ground. It is better to rectify the attitude before one starts hardening themselves to the Spirit.

Thank you. I was afraid that you were fixing to force me to continue clarifying my point! I am glad that we have agreement.

No, Jay, I think we agree on a lot of things and disagree on few others, but we are brothers in Christ, aren't we?

Jay is kewl. He is right 71.2% of the time. That's more than I can say for most of you heathens!
