Re: Credit Cards

What Sweet pea is trying to say is that with a credit card, you are only liable for $50, even if someone charges thousands of $$ on it.

If they get hold of your debit card, you get no reimbursement.

And in most cases, you cannot rent a car with a debit card. It must be a credit. If you really start doing all of your purchases on a credit card (with paying it back at the end of the month) there are some that will really get you a good deal on cash back AND frequent flyer miles, even if you have to pay an annual fee.

Hmm, well, you make a great case for cash; I've been buying foreign debit cards for a couple of years, no problems yet; but I have heard stories...

I wouldn't be surprised if some card offers dancing girls, and only suggest that one reflect on all this "too good to be true" benny stuff--to each his own.

Like, instead of trusting God, is what I'm reading.
I have another, more spiritual, bottom line for you...
but unfortunately, like most genuine bottom lines,
it is not going to jibe with our premises very well.

Uh .... you don't know me and my carnal nature would like to resent your implication - but I won't give into it. Believe me .......... I have trusted God for many things through my life and He has never failed me!!!! I really can't imagine right now being in a position that the "extreme emergency" would constitute using a card - but I have it and if I HAD to use it - I believe that God could provide the means to pay it off before the end of the month. (and "extreme emergencies for me do NOT include "wants"......)

And if you prove the fraud, they will reimburse the $50. (at least my credit card will).

In the meantime..... a debit card can empty your bank account and it could be months before the fraud is proven and you are reimbursed (which can happen). Believe me - I know - to the tune of over $3000 !!!

He's saying that we all should take time to reflect on all the credit cards rewards claims of grand things (if it is too good to be true, it usually is) they will give to us if we use their card...Benny Hinn style ... and going as far as the sensational ...such as dancing girls.

That's been my experience also....I love the rewards; I usually get the gift cards (there's a list of shops, restaurants etc) and the gift card is usually more than the reward
