Re: Hair, Pants, Jewelry
This is the only jewelry that either of us wear.
And I ain't taking it off for any man! It means far far too much to me to worry about offending someone by wearing it. That is their problem, not mine.

Re: Hair, Pants, Jewelry
When Pat and I got married, we both had wedding rings.
Well, for Christmas 1957 I gave her an engagement ring. My future father-in-law had to cosign for me to buy it on credit.
Then, when we went to her grandparents house to get married by her grandfather, she told him we wanted a double ring ceremony. He told us that had to leave to preach somewhere and did not have much time and we could put the rings on later.
She can still wear hers but my fingers are too fat for mine. I've had a couple different rings since then that I've used for a wedding ring but the latest one was lost a few months ago so right now I don't have a wedding ring.
Some years back when I could still wear my wedding ring I stopped wearing it for fear of offending some people. I don't know if anyone noticed that I was not wearing a wedding ring or not. The only person offended was my wife because I wouldn't wear my wedding ring. I didn't leave it off long.

Re: Hair, Pants, Jewelry
There comes a point in life when all this talk of hair, pants and jewelry becomes nonsense.
As I grew deeper into the Bible, I begun to realize that this is just a distraction from preaching the Gospel. It eventually becomes a game of upmanship, of; "I can be more holy than thou because of how I dress." which is absolute nonsense.
Please do not impress me with how you look, impress me by how you act.
and please do not take this to mean that I aprove of men dressing like bums or hoodlums or of women dressing like hartlots.

I may not agree with you on certain things Sam...but you folks are a fine looking couple that I would probably enjoy getting acquainted with.
God Bless

I agree.
Not only do new babes in the Lord have to fight Satan's minions trying to pull them back out into the world, and fight the pull to carnality, but then they must worry about some insecure people in the church system scrutinizing their dress, their language, their every move to see if they make the grade or not.
Jesus said we enter into His rest. Why are some in the church system treating people like this?

I agree with most of your post, but on the bold - I think they are the same. Both can be deceptive and easily imitated. Likewise both can be important, but should simply be a part of the natural progression of a maturing Christian.
