To Renda

Have you been to the Cordova Farmer's Market yet?

I want to know what that large foul-smelling fruit in the big box over by the fish market area is.

Re: To Rhenda

I have been, but I only bought okra and tomatoes.

I didn't go over by the fish market -- so, I didn't see that fruit.

There was some really strange things in there, for sure!

Re: To Rhenda

Hey now! That's not fair to only show me a picture of that fried okra and that wonderful looking tomato.

I should have bought that wax apple to taste it.

Oh well, I will be coming to Memphis regularly for the next 4 years now. I will find out what that fruit is and how to prepare it...if I can get past the smell.

But, if it smells, why would you want to do that?

I know the ethnic cooks are loving the store!

Re: To Rhenda

Is "Rhenda" Renda's evil twin sister I never knew about?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Hmmm I'll have to try that!
When you fry the okra, do you just
pan fry in small amount of oil, or drop
pieces into deep fryer?
