This is a good thread. As of late, I have been looking at various consecrations I have held and why I hold them. Consecration as I understand it, is a practice that is set aside for God and only God thus making it sacred. For example, prayer ought to be set aside for God not God and making out the grocery list. In this example we would be fulfilling habit not a consecration. God deserves our undivided attention. I believe this applies to speaking with tongues. Praying in tongues with out focus would be a habit not consecration. Praying, focused on God, touching Him and allowing it to flow from deep with in would be a consecrated thing. Food for thought, the Holy Ghost is a teacher, I wonder if the soul can learn to speak in tongues from It and speak out. If our speaking in tongues is done half heartedly, habitually not really tapping in to God are we just speaking out from our souls? Just some things Ive been thinking of.
