Which leads me to wonder who in our government is the advocate for the rights of the american people? Votes counted in Spain? Good grief! That is like america counting the election votes in Russia or Poland.

Well, it helps to see that if you want to be somewhere you've never been,
you have to go somewhere you've never gone. While we attempt this, mostly
with threads that Scripture tells us have no answer, there are lots of other topics that may grow a Christian. I look for subjects that "convict" me, not really pleasant; or things that seem impossible on their face, but aren't specifically dealt with in Scripture. That may tend to convict me

Here's the big deal in our case: Walt had to quit work in May of this year and go on disability. Our income is ok but unfortunately, when he left his company, it meant our insurance will be done as of the end of October. Yes, we can still get Cobra - but it will cost us $1600 a month!! I don't know about you, but $1600 a month is ALOT more than we can afford. So we've been looking at other options. And guess what - because Walt had an aneurysm that ruptured 6 years ago and because his aorta remains dissected the entire length of it, the only insurance we can get it not even worth getting. Insurance that will cost us $1000 a month and still offer no prescription insurance and have a deductible of $15,000 a year.

So try again to convince me that this Obamacare stuff is such a wonderful thing. Ain't gonna hapen. Now if someone would step in and totally overhaul the whole insurance industry - THAT person would get my vote for sure! Obama fell FAR, FAR short of doing that!

While I see your point, having an interest in health care reform is not strictly political. Medical care as we know it is not possible without insurance or a boat load of money... Of course the idea that we are somehow entitiled to the highest level of care in the world is something else all together.

I've never understood why a people who believe that to die is gain spend so much time, effort and money fighting it.
