Might have made voters a little confused that he has that same mandate in Massachusetts. It was his idea.

Yet, he continues to insist that this should happen at the state level, emphasizing state's rights over federal mandates. That's a positive; not a negative. It keeps government small. It allows states to decide what is right for their constituents. There's nothing wrong with instituting statewide healthcare if the state's constituents are agreeable with what is being passed. Passing a healthcare mandate on a smaller (state level) scale works better simply because it's done a smaller scale and for no other reason than that. It's easier to regulate, supervise and change as needed. It leaves the individual attributes of the plan up to the state, allowing the state to customize it to their constituents' needs and to their particular state budget.
Surely you see that there is a difference between something done at the federal level that impacts all 50 states and something done at the state level that only affects that state? He makes sense to me. Yes, we need to address the problem of healthcare because too many people don't have it. No, we don't need to fix it at the federal level; we need to fix it at the state level.
Whether you like or dislike Romney, there's no doubt about it that Obama was flustered last night and that he was showing his narcissistic side. I wish they would turn off his mic when he goes over time. What an arrogant man. He grates on my very last nerve. When he smiles, its like an angry wolf baring it's teeth. I don't believe for a second that he loves America or wants anything good for our country. He wants to twist our country into something that suits his un-American ideals.
My vote is going to Romney for the simple purpose of getting Obama out of office, if nothing else. I don't dislike Romney, either; but I'm not all that enthused about him. However, he is far better than the current alternative. I like him slightly more than I liked John McCain, which wasn't much. I sort of wish the ticket were reversed, and that it was Ryan/Romney. I do believe that Romney, while he has faults, is a loyal American and family man and I believe that he genuinely wants what is best for the whole country--whether you agree with his conclusions or not.

Yes, spanked with distorted facts, but he sure looked good doing it!
I love how Americans look at performance and appearance more than at what someone is actually saying.

So you are opposed to mandates across the board? No matter what? State, federal or local level?

Romney won big on self energy. He made Obama look bad.
On the other hand all on here who are whooping it up need to pay closer attention to what he said. He reversed himself on almost all that he has said in his campaign speeches.
An Etch A Sketch moment just like his adviser said he would.

So in MA if you don't buy insurance you are taxed extra? Do you have a source for that?

He reminded me of the preachers who sound like a donkey braying. Substance doesn't matter as long as you bray loudly.
