K, maybe Etch A Sketch will work this time around.

Paul didn't address fake tongues. He addressed misuse of S.I.N. (speaking in tongues).

If tongue talking is controlled by the Holy Ghost it would not be possible to misuse or abuse S.I.N.

1Co 14:31 For you may all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be comforted.
1Co 14:32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Gifts are not controlled by the Spirit, rather the are enabled by the Spirit

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
