Since he is diabetic, and I very rarely make desserts unless there's a special occasion--I told him he'd have to wait till Thanksgiving for the pumpkin pie. He put on this sad puppy dog face--and I told him not to even think about it, I wasn't going to make the pie. Then the 70 year old lady from church who was working at the thrift store with me feel sorry for him. She told him she'd make him a pumpkin pie with splenda before Thanksgiving.

I told him he could make all the sad puppy dog faces he wanted to--I still wasn't gonna feel guilty about buying myself that candle. LOL

He's such a spoiled brat sometimes.

My husband's blood pressure, a few months ago, really alarmed him. Now he's eating organic and losing weight! He fought me on the organic for so long!! Now he likes it and sees a difference. I am buying milk from a dairy that is not homogenized or pasteurized. He was upset at $6.50 a gallon. The other day we were out and the delivery wasn't for a few more days so he bought some milk at the grocery store. He said, "You sure can tell the difference." I said, "What? What did you say? You can tell the difference? What?!!" Silly rabbit!

Re: Candle Scents - Your favorites?

Just switched to testing with soy wax. Getting the correct wick is more of a problem than with the paraffin, but I am loving it!!

Testing a Pomegranate candle right now - very nice!!!! Good clean burning wax. Hardly had this candle lite, in the guest bath, and am already smelling it in the living room - awesome!

Pomegranate sounds nice. Might try that, but I still love lavender and vanilla.

I don't like food scents, for the most part. But I know they do well in soy wax, so I bought more food scents for testing. My Warm Vanilla Sugar did well in the soy. I like that soft scent.

I really love Lavender, but my husband can't stand it, no Lavender candles here. However, I buy the scent, put a little on cotton balls and stick them in the linen closet and drawers - does wonders!

Oh, I love the food scented candles!!

Where do you buy your scents for the candles you make?
I'll have to try that with the cotton balls and lavender scent.

If you knew now much money we spend testing wax, wicks, containers and scents, you would understand why I wouldn't share that information. I just got out of debt on that. One person asked for my candle formula. I told them if they paid off my credit card, I would give it to them.

I would suggest you Google candle supply companies and order 1 oz samples. Most companies have them on sale for the fall. I can give you one very reputable company that I don't use because of shipping - http://www.peakcandle.com/
