Margie, I tried a new cleaning formula and thought about your thread here, being you want to talk about anything other than politics. lol
My little grandson got into our new vehicle and used the inside door hinge to pull himself in. I didn't notice until later, but he grabbed the back of the driver's seat and got black grease all over the seat covers. ARGH!
Anyway, I ran across a formula using two parts peroxide (I have house grade which is very strong) and one part blue Dawn dish soap. It totally took all the oil out of the fabric!!! 
So, I thought I would try it on one of my mattresses. My DIL and her family came for a visit and her son was drinking chocolate milk in the bedroom!! Well, he spills the milk and it goes through the mattress cover and stains the mattress! I cleaned it as best I could - two years ago. I tried the new solution and it got that old stain out - awesome!!!

I'm interested. I have a mechanic in my family. Where did you get house grade peroxide?

I purchased the bottle at an alternative healing place in my area. I'm sure regular peroxide would work, but I used the stronger because it was black grease and I wanted to make sure I got it out. Can't tell it has ever been there.

They are making cleaners now using peroxide instead of bleach.

Awesome! Only problem with living on the coast, you have to have Clorox for mildew. I haven't found a way out of that one.

You are welcome, Sarah. I wanted to try it because I, initially, tried another concoction for cleaning my bathroom and those shower doors that I love - hate shower curtains.
However much you want to mix, it's a 50/50. Heat up white vinegar a minute of two, stir up equal amount of blue dawn dish soap, put in spray bottle and spray your areas. Come back a couple of hours later and wipe it down. AWESOME and it WORKS! So happy I found this idea.

Okay, Margie. My husband informed me that he is tired of hearing the phone ring all the time. I told him he could move out and that would solve the problem. Good or bad advice?
