I know this has been an issue for the UPC and similiar organizations for a long time but I need to ask a question (I am not UPC) and please I just ask for the scripture reference not anyone's opinion - I repeat - scripture reference concerning a beard or mustache. One of my family members is in UPC or similiar organization and got all bent out of shape because someone they know was growing a beard. The only reason I am asking this on this thread is because others have brought it up about the beard. I knew once a link was provided with a picture, the facial hair would become a "topic". I do not know any of these people and have not been to the listed churches but just want to know the scripture references only. Thank you so much. I enjoy reading the forum and very seldom ever post and it would never be conturverisal. I don't like it when people become hateful or criticize others. I believe most think it was because of the hippie movement back in the 60's & 70's. Sex, drugs, and rock and roll. And it wasn't only the UPC that seemed to have that belief. But, that's irrelevant to this discussion.

I know Shelly and his family and they are a wonderful family. They were UPC when they left to pastor that church. Over time they began to change but so did their friends they associate with. He was helping at Life Tabernacle with Pastor Jim Kilgore when he left. He is an excellent minister. I would say is calling is probably more Evangelist as he has the talent to really appeal to he lost. His heartbeat was always reaching and keeping the lost in church.
Wonderful family, would love to know where they are going.

Man judges by the outward appearance...God sees deeper....Why would we judge someone most of us don't know?

So Bro. Sam are you saying that it was man made rules and no scriptures to back it? I understand that completely as I was taught a lot of things that had no scripture backing either. I still don't do 99% of what I was taught against but I don't criticize others. Thank you for clearing that up for me. We really can't preach against something if we don't have scripture to back it. That would adding to the Word. I always enjoy your posts as you always say everything with the Love of God. GOD BLESS.
