The participle form (the "ing") shows ongoing action and a relationship to baptism and the middle voice indicates that this is something the subject (Saul or Paul) is doing to benefit himself.
Study to show yourself approved.

Show us how the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8 called on the name of the Lord.

You can tell folks who have never sit through a Bible Class allow me to demostrate:
churchES Acts 9:31, 15:41, 16:5, 19:37,
Rom. 16:4,16
1Cor 11:16, 14:33, 34, 16:1,19,
2Cor. 8:1, 19,23, 11:8,28, 12:13
Gal. 1:22
Rev.22:16
Just to name a few passages too show how Biblically ignorant you are. Then YOU want to give me a Greek lesson? NOT interested.
Are we having fun yet.

Well, first, lets determine who was calling on the name of the Lord, Paul or Ananias? The language of the passage is without question, Paul was calling on the name of the Lord thus the usage of the word "epikalesamenos".
Act 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Ananias said, Paul, don't tarry. Paul, arise. Paul be baptized. Paul call on the name of the Lord. "Epikalesamenos" confirms this.

Well... we agree on one thing...
Baptism is for the remission/forgiveness of sins. No two ways about it. You either agree or don't.

I realized long ago that you really didn't care about studying, you only care about being obeyed mindlessly. I'm sure you've found a few folks who do that. Imagine their surprise if they actually started examining what you teach and preach and find it's not in the bible but is instead some concoction of Romanist teachings and man's traditions?
Of course there's only one church, that's bible. Of course there's not a religious structure with building-based 'churches' and a modified OT Romanist system which you're promoting.

The blood is sufficient for redemption, it either is or it's not. In Epley's world, it's not. How about yours?

There is only ONE faith, doctrine or truth however you want to word it but there is different "churches" you can also read the beginning of the epistles to each different church and it will say to the church of........
Revelation 1:11
King James Version (KJV)
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

Yep. To the seven churches, not the seven church houses, not the seven temples, not the seven 'houses of God', but to the seven churches which are in Asia...and then goes on to give the seven location of those seven churches. One ekklēsia and the location of seven groups of 'called out ones'.

Okay, having given us this again, tell us about Phillip and the Ethiopian Eunuch. How does the scripture show the Eunuch calling on the name of the Lord?
