Re: I love being Apostolic!
The early Apostles taught other foundations besides Acts 2:38 and Oneness. They taught post tribulation rapture. They taught no immortality for anyone until the resurrection. They taught the wicked would die the second death not gain immortality in Gehenna.
They taught body ministry, They taught headcovering for women and none for men when they were taking part in body ministry. They taught be perfect even as the Father in Heaven is perfect.
Restoration apostles of today will teach those same things.

Re: I love being Apostolic!
I believe there is some merit in eveyones contribution on this thread - and just to encourage KC - what you wrote does not fall totally on deaf ears. I do not take what you have written and toss it aside because of my own bias either for or against certain "standards".
The important thing to keep in mind, in my opinion, is the importance of relationship, coupled with personal study and prayer to God. How can any of us apply the Word without approaching God not only in humility, but in faith, and in love for Him and what He has done to redeem us?
Issues that involve lifestyle discipline and changes - radical or not, mean nothing, if they are done with the wrong motives in mind. If I close myself off toward God because I am offended with a brother or sister over hair, dress, or even their particular delivery when teaching or preaching such things, then the only voice I hear is my own offended spirit, trying to justify or excuse my actions while dismissing what my ears hear.
Having said all that, I have learned that principle applications concerning things like TV, hair, dress, or activities can not be legislated - even if a person obeys what leadership expects or even demands - if the same person never hears from the Lord, and it is not fostered through relationship to Jesus, it will not last.
Just my two cents..

I agree with everything in this post. My pastor often says "I can't make anyone do anything". And he honestly doesnt try. He preaches it and lets God do the convicting. Holiness cannot be legislated. I agree. It takes revelation and relationship. Principles of holiness, lifestyle disciplines, and standards are fruitless without relationship and love toward God.

I'll share my thoughts on this one...

I would like to contend that if the Apostles were alive today they would continue to be champions of the following tenents!
They would teach the Oneness of God and against the doctrine of trinitarianism. Agreed
They would teach the absoulute necessity of the fulfillment of Acts 2:38 Salvation. Agreed
They would teach Separation from the world and a holiness lifestyle. Agreed
They would teach against television! Disagree (I believe they'd teach that we should guard ourselves against all worldly entertainment on the internet, television, and radio. However, they'd not teach that we not use television, the internet, or radio.)
They would teach against Apostolic ladies cutting or dying their hair. Disagree (uncut hair doctrine is unbiblical. However, long hair for a woman is biblical. I also don't believe they'd focus on dying the hair unless it was extreme an unnatural color.)
They would teach short hair on men. Agreed
They would teach against cosmetics. Disagree (I think they'd teach against pride about one's looks and seduction... but not all cosmetics.)
They would teach that ladies should wear dresses/ skirts and men should wear pants. Disagree (I believe they'd teach modesty in dress. However, I don't believe pants vs. skirts/dresses would be a hill they'd die on.)
They would teach against organized sports. Disagree (I think they'd teach against being obsessed with any kind of sport.)
They would teach against jewelry of any kind. Disagree (I believe they'd teach against the use of immodest and extravagant jewelry.)
They would teach that the knees need to be covered at ALL times when in public. Agreed
They would probably even teach sleeves AT LEAST to the elbow. Agreed
Many other things would they teach, and certainly they would be the center of much ridicule. Agreed
Most of all, however, they would teach “Love your brother even when he hates you!” AGREED
I really do love being Apostolic! AGREED

Re: I love being Apostolic!
Wondering if God has a checklist?
And if He thinks if anyone shows an elbow or a knee they might as well be naked.|
I am sure he knows what color everyone's hair is, really wondering if He cares if they color it. I think he has a bigger problem if MEN put on make up. I think he likes jewelry in good taste.
I don't believe He is confused at all. I believe He sees our souls covered by the blood of His Son.
And He also tells us what He thinks of men putting burdens on His people.

Re: I love being Apostolic!
I'd like to add to this...
I believe they would...
Teach against denominations or organizations.
Teach that non-Acts 2:38 Christians be loved, befriended, and shown the truth more perfectly.
Teach that we shouldn't judge another "believer's" salvation on account of them only answering to Jesus and their journey not being complete.
Teach against manditory tithing.
Teach against large elaborate buildings.
Teach that the church should gather in smaller groups that faciliate every member prophesying and using their spiritual gifts (body ministry).
Teach loving obedience to elders, treating them as spiritual fathers and mentors.
Teach moderation concerning alcohol, recomending abstenence.
Teach sharing all that we own with one another, especially those in need.
Teach against incorporating churches with the government.
Teach against ministerial licensing with the government.
Teach against government control of (and involvement in) marriage.
Teach against going to this world's legal systems to settle civil disputes (theft, divorce, slander, libel, etc.).
