One must believe in eternal punishment to be finally saved. It is a foundation teaching of Christ.

The more accurate term is "eternal judgment". My mistake.

It is one of the foundation doctrines. I dont think we can be finally saved and deny them.

Hebrews 6:1-2

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

What is this "perfection", it certainly is not what we can do by willpower or determination. It is the gospel of Paul, the apostle born out of season for the Gentiles and the final Good News, that we are made perfection thru the work of Christ.

"Whether we live in the reality of it or not, God has justified us. So you can either live in the reality: God sees you through the Person and work of Christ, or else you can roll on the floor, spending your days in self-comsumption (religious self-consumption is the ugliest kind), unnecessarily weeping and begging God to do something about your poor flesh that He already did 2,000 years ago". Martin Zender

You are a new creation in Christ. Wake up and smell the justification. This is the complete work of Christ, what we cannot do for ourselves, He has done. So, it is time to walk in it.
