My father had diverticulitus and so do I. No fun at all. Luckily I have had less problems with it the older I get.

Funny thing, my dad and all of the family on his side have this. When I was first diagnosed, my issues were very few. Now that I am getting older, they seem to be at my door every time I turn around. They are mostly mild episodes but like this last one, it hit pretty hard. I went up and got prayed for back in 2009 and I felt strong of Gods healing and "confirmation" was given to me the disease was gone.......but here I am ...... please understand I am not questioning nor doubting God at all. Just a little confused but still holding on to what I feel and believe in spite of what is happening. For people who have no idea what we go through with this painful disease.....all I can say (on a woman's level...who have had children) ... sometimes the pain is on the level of childbirth pain.....pretty bad!!!! I appreciate your prayers!!!

I can beleive it. My barber who grew up not far from where I grew up & is only 3 months older than me, had to have a Colonoscopy last June as they thought he had Cancer.
It wasn't, it was Diverticulitis & after a big diet change, which resulted in him losing quite a few pounds he is fine.
It was quite nerve wracking for him to find out what it was as he said it was painful!

To be honest, my diet before now has been a train wreck. I am not a big person or ever have been, even though I eat all the time...sweets and all........lol I only weigh 105 at 5 feet tall. (My husband says I should buy stock in Little Debbie/Betty Crocker and Nestle Toll House.....LOL) But I dont eat right and until recently when I became a member of ARA and we see really what all the animals go through for meat, fur, testing ... etc, so with all of that, I made the decision to go Vegan. It is something not many can do and really stick to it but I am fully devoted on 100% Vegan. This illness is a big stumbling block to my everyday life....when it hits, it sets me back quiet a bit, but God always sees me through. My doctor says Veganisim will almost curb it 99%, but we will see. Even if it does not, I am still in for the long haul of my devotion to what I feel and believe in my heart is the right decision for me. Thank you again for your prayers Bro Ron
