I'm apostolic. I believe in obeying the bible. I believe in following and obeying the foundations of the bible, that God inspired men wrote. I believe in obeying a holiness standard of living. I believe in letting the fruits of the spirit be manifested in my walk in Christ in word and deed, adorning myself accordingly inward as well as outward.
I just don't believe in taking scripture and adding to it, to perpetuate some false, misguided belief (however honest it may seem). Nor do I believe in taking away from the scriptures, to form some other false, slack, loose, easy doctrine, to relieve me from obeying the bible, and to justify me in living a life of sin .

How so? I have been attending an Apostolic Church for 30 years this coming March & I must be from Missouri, because if you state it, I will look it up.
True, TV isn't in the Bible, but neither is Crack Cocaine & cigarettes either, but there are Biblical Principals at work as well.
Apostolic Doctrine is in the Word!

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

That's not what I'm talking about when I say what's not in the bible, I believe in obeying these things because the principles of them is outlined in the bible, I'm mainly talking about all that false, uncut hair doctrine etc.. T.V. isn't in the bible, but the only thing it serves is the lust of the eyes. There's nothing whatsoever on there that a spiritual mind would want to see, nothing but entertaining the lust of your eyes, and engrossing yourself in worldly entertainment (no matter how "clean" it may seem).

1) Do you receive the Lords Supper every week? Acts 2:6 the Apostles did.
2) Do you own personal property or do you share it all with all believers? Acts 4:32-The Apostles held all things in common.
3)Does your shadow heal people? Acts 5:15 Peter' did.
4)Do you keep a Saturday Sabbath? Acts 13:43-44 The Apostles did.
Be careful what you call "Apostolic", I can almost bet your idea of "apostolic" and the Apostle's idea are many worlds apart! Following the teachings and traditions of man does not make one Apostolic! And for that matter, shouldn't we rather be called Christians (Christ Followers) rather than Apostolics (Apostle Followers), I mean, Who died for your sins, Jesus or Peter?

I have read it in the Bible--it is there, so it can not be false. Did you know that in the Apostles day, there were many gods & goddess's of the pagans.
One of them, Diana I believe, had the women cut their hair & offer it as a sacrifice to the Goddess of fertility.
Temple Prostitutes as well, cut their hair & prostituted themselves.
There is a spirit of lesbiansm, on many women today to masculinize themselves.
They do this by yup, you guessed it, cutting their hair & wearing pants, which traditionaly has been a male garment!
God desires a distinction of the sexes, both in dress, manner, and behaviour.
I wish I had that National Geographic article about the temple diana.
Do you beleive that one can just disobey without any impunity a teaching of the Bible that Paul was inspired to write?
If one can do that, what else do we choose not to obey?
