Re: Is The Bible Infallible ?
To say that is a discrepancy is not 100 percent accurate in Matthew the number of days given is specific whereas in Luke it is word as a round about number.
In the version you are using it prefaced the number of days in Luke with the word SOME and in the KJV it preface the number of says with the word ABOUT both times implying a round about number and therefore not a contradiction.

Re: Is The Bible Infallible ?
If one person counts the days and can therefore give a specific number and someone else who wasn't there recounts the story but is unsure lg the exact numbers so he gives a round about figure instead of an exact number he is not contradicting he is don't admiring he is unsure of the number but knows it was somewhere around this many.

If you told someone you'd visit them in 6 days, which you did, and that person says you came by about 8 days later, what would folks think? They'd think someone didn't know what they were talking about.

Re: Is The Bible Infallible ?
I understand that the number of days is different my point is that Matthew is telling the exact amount and Luke is giving a round about number almost like saying right days give or take a day or so. He is obviously not saying a specific number of days. He is not contradicting Matthew because he is saying he is not sure the exact number of days just that it was somewhere around eight days.
If you and another person are telling the same story and they know the exact amount of time that has transpired since it took place. No one would consider you to be contradicting each other for him to say an exact and you to give a round about number. It just shows one is unsure and the other knows the exact details.

Re: Is The Bible Infallible ?
Would it be safe to save that The Bible is God breathed, and the original autographs are inerrant, but everything bible translators do aren't always inspired in their Bible translation work ?

I tend to leave a margin of error on the original writers parts too, after all, they were mere humans the same as the translators. I believe that the Bible is our guidebook and that it contains enough to bring us to salvation. I do believe that parts of it are interspersed with human opinion, and I believe that the english translations are fraught with numerous mistranslations whither those were purposeful or in ignorance. Nothing can be translated perfectly into another language, some hebrew words have absolutely no english equivalent so the translators had to guess what was being said based on what they had already translated.

In following that line of thought, couldnt it be said that if the Bible is infallible and that there are NO mistakes, Why would one writer be "unsure" of something? Dosnt that leave room for other writers to be "unsure" of things too, and it would leave room for them to "guess" or give a "round-about" as in, Well God said "something like that"?
Infallible and without error means that every thing would line up 100%, NO room for guessing.

Re: Is The Bible Infallible ?
To many there is no real authority. No wonder there is very little left of the fear of the Lord. No wonder sin is nothing nowadays.

For someone to say that this show an error makes no sense rather it simply shows a predisposition to unbelief in the inerrancy of scripture. If you walk out side and say that the temperature is ABOUT 70 degrees when in actuality it is exactly 72 no one one would say that you were wrong or contradicting the thermometer. To say ABOUT is the same as saying approximately. Luke was not trying to be specific here! This is not a discrepancy this is just an excuse to find fault.
If the Bible is not instant then who gets to choose which parts are true? Is it simply the parts we like or the parts that make us feel good. Do you decide for me which parts are correct or do I decide for you or does each decide for themselves similar to the way that it says in the book of judges:
" but every man did that which was right in his own eyes."
Man is a fallen creature and desires to please his flesh so he would naturally seek to reject the parts he did not like or the parts that push righteousness.
