Re: My pastor's wife had broidered hair?
I find nowhere in scripture that it says for women to have uncut hair. Long does not equal uncut.
I do find however, that women are NOT to have big fancy hair styles, or ornaments of any kind in their hair.

Paul talking about braided hair:
1TIM 2:9 RVS
9 also that women should adorn themselves modestly and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly attire..........
1TIM 2:9 YLT
9 in like manner also the women, in becoming apparel, with modesty and sobriety to adorn themselves, not in braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or garments of great price,
Braid a natural covering/veil and see if it still covers your head? It is the same with your God given covering/hair.

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

What Edict? Paul is advising women to actually shorn or shave their heads as a better choice to the current ucovered head.
If the woman be not covered, LET: This let in verse 6 is Paul giving a woman permission to cut their hair.
English people use LET + someone + VERB to give someone permission to do something, or allow someone to do something.

5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

Re: My pastor's wife had broidered hair?
Now on a serious note. I was sitting here thinking, Paul's "admonishion" against hair and clothing seem to be part of the gospel to some, but what do they do about his instructions about silent women? Silence means not speaking at all, that would include singing, testifying, teaching, or even telling someone hello once they have entered the church, So, Could one of you, maybe Ron or Epley, explain to me why one is preached and the other isnt? Or if you believe that both apply, does you assembly enforce the silence rule??
