They will kick you out of fellowship if you don't tithe your money.

I had a Pastor who was upset because not enough people were tithing. He told the congregation that if more people didn't pay that he and his family would take a church somewhere else. Quote, "My family is not going to suffer." End quote.
I guess more people gave. He is still there today. I think it's funny in a sad way. Saints that struggle financially have to give sacrificially and "trust God." But, he didn't have to trust God. If manipulation failed he would have bailed.

You've heard it now. It happened to me. I was told I was in violation of God's word. This after he told me twice he had no problem with it. I asked him before I went there would it undermine his ministry, he said no.

The Apostle Paul fought tooth and nail against putting people back in bondage.
As an example, Paul did not care if people wanted to be circumcised (as per OT), he said it profits nothing. He was pretty much indifferent. If you want to tithe, that's good. Do it unto the Lord.
However, when it came to the Jews teaching other Christians that "Except you are circumcised, you can't be saved." That's where Paul did not spare those legalists at all. In the same way, when some are teaching legalism with regards to tithing, well it should be exposed.
Gal 2
4 Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in— who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery—

You simply are going to be shunned. You will be told you're going to hell! Will you stay in that environment?

Re: To tithe or not to tithe?
I have posed this question over the years (maybe even had a poll at one time) but
Do you think one who does NOT believe in mandatory "tithing" generally gives more or less?
