Now take that band to a school hall... but I roollly hope your band know some contemporary christian music. Otherwise get thee back to whence ye came ...
With all respect in the world for Elder Epley (he knows I certainly do respect him), You do realize that the good Elder is not only NOT UPCI, but pretty much of the belief that the UPCI is far too liberal right?
Are you really saying that because an AMF guy teaches things you dont like, you wont go to a church the AMF guy thinks is far too liberal?
Because that just flat confuses me.
bump...

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I know what happens in a UPC service, I have ZERO desire to watch a service.
And a little

I do realize that Bro. Epley is not UPC, but his attitude/spirit is very typical of the conservative element of the UPC (spiritual elistist/judge everyone else who they consider more liberal). This reminds me how some of the preachers (who are the most judgmental) treat those they don't agree with. SE is ok here on AFF, he just thinks I'm a lost liberal charismatic, which I can deal with here on AFF, but I don't want to fellowship with people who can't accept me. I don't demand they see every issue as I do, but neither will I see every issue the way they do.
What is also bothersome to me is that SE absolutely cannot defend his views with solid scriptural exegesis BUT there are still posters left and right shouting amen. (Lacey, Randy, Ferd). It just dampens my enthusiasm and optimism and reminds me, I don't want to be in a church lke that, and I do know that alot of UPCs are like that.

You're just making excuses...
Come home
Come home
Ye who are weary
Come home
Come home
Hilarious you would bring that up. One of the people in our political group is a die-hard Catholic and knows that I used to be Catholic. He said, "You know once a Catholic, always a Catholic. Catholics always come home." He's thinks that after I have received the Holy Ghost that I could come back to "the church" and do some good there.
