We've had this discussion before and I still stand on the fact that no responsible parent would pay for their children to get 3-4 years of no education that will help their children take care of themselves.

Sister Rhoni,
I would and I am no idiot.I simply think my daughter has a great voice and would like to see her develop it.She is also taking courses at our local community college.I also want her to do what she feels in ministry. She has been teaching and preaching since the age of eleven. So I guess it would depend on the person who is attendings future.Did you not go to JCM? If I
remember right they did not back women in ministry whatsoever. In fact one of the classes was the Role of the Shepherdess.Which is good if you are going to be a preachers wife but what if you are a preacher or a teacher?Sorry I disagree.I think our young women ought to
be doing the ministries God called them to do as well. Its a sacrifice to send my daughter to bible college but for the will of God I will gladly take on other shifts and work harder.Sorry sis I disagree.Had I gone to bible college ministry would have not been as hard and I would have had a more realistic look at it.Some people do ministry for a vocation.Sorry I disagree.

Sis. T,

Calm down. None of my posts were directed at you or your daughter. I went to JCM for only one reason...I wanted to do something for God. I just felt the pressure of having to marry a preacher in order to be able to minister. Today this is not so.

I went to Bible college against my Pastor's advice, [he thought I should stay home and marry a home boy]...I wasn't even thinking about the marriage bit..I was far too young.

I don't regret going to Bible College, but then I sacrificed and paid my own way. I worked three jobs to get my way through JCM. But, 6 months after my divorce from a preacher I found myself trying to get a job and all the 15 years of ministry could not provide for my children and myself.

Those most successful in JCM came having already went to college, had a profession, and worked comfortably through JCM and were able to go into ministry without being poverty stricken.

You know I love you and have no problem with you disagreeing with me...everyone has to choose for themselves what is best.

Love & Blessings, Rhoni

P.S. I have never thought you were an idiot...I have limited the use of that word to a couple conservative men! j/k

Would that be similiar to limiting the use of the phrase "messed up" to describe a couple Christian counselors? Just curious.

Right. And just what does" most succesful" mean? Who is going to define that? I did not consider anyone at JCM successful. That came years later. I know a vast majority that have gone on to very successful ministries that did not have a secular degree or a church pedigree.

I do not know where TBC stands now on teaching the gifts of the spirit. I was told during Ensey's years that it was taught against. That it isn't for today. I also was told that a teacher there did not allow the gifts to be used in his church for the same reason.

IF that were the case I personally wouldn't endorse that school. I am not sure how you could find out where the school/teachers stand on that issue.

I mentioned the above men because neither of them come from money families nor do they have fathers who are pastors.

And I attended JCM with both of them and I assure you neither of them were concerned with lacking degree or pedigree. They were serious about doing something for God. It paid off.
