Mental Illness or Demonic Influence?

I find it interesting that in Mark's account of the Great Commission Jesus says,

Mark 16:17 (KJV)
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Power to cast out devils is the first sign mentioned. However, the church of today ignores most demonic realities.

Children born with Downs Syndrome are simply possessed and can be cured with a hearty slap on the forehead while saying "in JEEEEE-zussss name!"?

Has anyone with Downs Syndrome ever been "healed"? (I'd love to see a before and after picture if someone DOES make such a claim -which I am sure do not exist.)

It's that simple. Only the enemy comes to steal and destroy.

The modern church does not believe any of this stuff.
That's why the world is in such a mess.
Science supposently knows all better.
If people actually believed the New Testament miracles
and lived accordingly we would see a total different world.
Churches would be like hospitals, where people go for healing
and to be set free.

Right. In Acts there were evil spirits cast out. People were delivered when they believed the gospel. Today we hold on to everything. But, it's not like today's ministry is equipped to minister deliverance.
